Kingdom Come: Deliverance, an in-progress RPG set in the Middle Ages and slated for a 2015 release, will be opening a limited alpha on October 22, the developer announced in its latest update.
The update from developer Warhorse Studios starts with the announcement that the game's crowdfunding has hit the impressive $2 million mark. According to the game's list of stretch goals, this means that the game now has enoughfor better voiceover and motion actors. The video then goes on to announce the upcoming alpha.
The alpha for Kingdom Come: Deliverance will be available to the game's backers over Steam. The alpha will not be representative of the whole game, understandable considering the game has another full year until its release window. Instead, the alpha will contain atown with NPCs milling about and a couple of side quests to look into. According to the developer, the plan is to slowly add more content to the alpha over the year, with new content set to debut each month.
