IM Kids 3rd Meal seeks crowdfunding

The recent fundraising trend of crowdfunding - websites that allow users to sort through a plethora of projects in need of financial support, contributing whatever dollar amount to whatever project they want, has just recently been taken up by child hunger advocates.

IM Kids 3rd Meal, a new nonprofit started this last school year that provides sack dinners to food insecure elementary students, just kicked their campaign off. They hope to raise $10,000 by the end of October.CrowdFunding advertizing

Donors will be asked to contribute in increments of $2, as that is the cost of making one child's sack dinner. In return, they will receive special perks, ranging from social media shout-outs and bumper stickers to dinner sack sponsorship and IM Kids T-shirts.

IM Kids started supplying 3rd Meals to students at Walnut Hills Elementary in Greenville and Emerson Elementary in Ionia this past spring. To date, over 17,000 3rd Meals have been supplied.CrowdFunding marketing

Food costs can be quite exponential when you look at the fact that we are supplying $2 dinners to 380 kids, five days a week, nine months a year. The group's food grant runs out this September; at this point, they are looking for any dollar they can get.Kickstarter Marketing
