The Story

Let me first introduce myself. My name is Nancy and I am 48 years, living in Belgium. For a long time I have not been able to travel, having gone through cancer treatment.

But I came out of it OK healthwise, not financially.

Even before I had cancer I was a traveller and I loved it, every inch of it. I had been mostly to the USA.

However, with the kindness of my friends I was able to be in Utsunomyiya, in the prefecture of Tochigi, just for a couple of days, together with them. I know the experience was very short but nevertheless, with only having visited Tochigi and Mashiko, I was sold as they say.

It is such a different culture that is so different from the culture in Western Europe. The people in Japan are so friendly, always helping out, and very respectful towards others.

Before I went there I learned just a couple of words Japanese to find my way from the airport to the small hotel that was close to JR Railway Station in Utsunomiya.

I didn't want to go back ....

My friends gave me the opportunity for a very short visit and ever since I have been wanting to go back and tour Japan, a guided tour.

If the funding for this project is successfull, I will be visiting Japan during Spring Season, with the Cherry Blossoms fully blossoming.

The Tour that I will be doing together with other fellow belgians is a tour of 15 days from April 9 to 23 April 2015.

I will fly via Rome straight to Narita going on to Tokyo where we will start the tour.

We will see Japanese gardens, visit Nikko, Kamakura, Hakone, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka, and so much much more. We will use the bullet train, an experience on its own.

How beautiful that must be, the land of the Rising Sun.

I want to go to experience more of the local culture and architecture, and learn some japanse when sharing with the locals.

This is my first real trip to Japan.

This project needs funding. I have no funds of my own.

So I am hoping that you will help me make possible my visit to Japan.
