Crowdfunding campaign to help kids learn French

The creator of New Zealand’s internationally acclaimed Rainbow Reading programme, Meryl-lynn Pluck, has teamed with two Nelson book designers, Carolyn Sygrove and Lisa Caron, to launch a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.

The aim of the campaign is to help fund the production of a revolutionary educational tool the trio have developed, which helps young children to learn the French language naturally and easily, in a similar manner to how children learn their first language.

Their product, LingoMagic, is described as an interactive language learning programme which works by combining a ‘magic audio wand’ with specially designed books. Fun and easy to use, it makes the most of young children’s natural abilities to absorb additional languages.crowdfunding marketing

If the campaign is successful, the funds raised will help to support the production of a minimum of 500 ‘magic audio wands’ and printing of 500 sets of books (12 per set).crowdfunding advertising

Meryl-lynn Pluck says the idea to create LingoMagic was inspired when the trio were working on an early reading resource together in 2013.indiegogo marketing

"Last year, whilst producing a ‘learn to read’ resource, it occurred to us the techniques we were using would be perfect for children learning another language. This is how we came up with the LingoMagic concept," says Meryl-lynn.kickstarter marketing

"Although we are designing the books ourselves, we need extra funds to meet production costs, so we’re hoping the Kickstarter campaign will enable us to move to the next stage.kickstarter project

Research shows learning a foreign language at a young age improves brain development and instils a facility to learn many languages. Because the ‘magic’ pen features a native French speaker, LingoMagic is an ideal resource for children whose parents are not bilingual but recognise the value of their children learning multiple languages.CrowdFunding advertizing

Our vision is to make learning new languages fun, easy and accessible to parents and children all around the world. Now we just need people to get behind us by pledging their support. This will help ensure our product is produced, with special rewards on offer for those who place pledges, if our project is successful."CrowdFunding marketing
