Can founder dating and crowdfunding be combined? Alejandro Cremades is about to find out

alejandro Cremades is looking to create a one-stop shop that provides everything from computer-assisted founder dating to funding for entrepreneurs.

That’s why he’s merged New York-basedRockThePost, an equity crowdfunding platform, with CoFoundersLab, an online and in-person matchmaking service for building startup teams, to create Onevest.

“At the end of the day for us, this merger is so important because we can give the full package to the entrepreneur,” Cremades tells me.crowdfunding marketing

With the new company, he says, an entrepreneur can come to Onevest with an idea, but no co-founders or traction. Onevest will be able to match that entrepreneur with a team and help them shape their idea into a fully formed business. Then, Onevest will help them raise money through its crowdfunding platform, which is currently open to accredited investors.

To Cremades, that full lifecycle service is key to differentiating his company from competitors like AngelList and SeedInvest, which offer more fully-formed companies the opportunity to raise money on their platforms.crowdfunding advertising

“It’s really the possibility of giving the full service, something that we haven’t seen out there,” he says.

It’s also a major pivot for Cremades and his RockThePost co-founder, Tanya Prive, since RockThePost was, like others, focused on helping more fully-formed companies raise money and Onevest will be focused on that, and nurturing entrepreneurs from the idea stage through fundraising.indiegogo marketing

“Before we were just focused on the transactional part…which everyone else was doing,” Cremades tells me.

He says today’s merger announcement was three months in the making.kickstarter marketing
