Rome, to me, is the pearl of Tuscany.
I was first introduced to Rome years ago, passing through. The most amazing city, I thought to myself.
Since then, I went through cancer and had a hard time getting on my feet again financially.
This past year, having being able to gather just enough to visit Rome again and really take time out to visit all the historic sites I was determined to learn all I possibly could about the history of Rome.
I was over the moon, arriving late at night, tired, and laying my head down in a hostel, sharing my few words I know about the Italian language.
The next morning, I set out to discover Rome on foot, the sun shining, nothing could go wrong.
The Piazza del Popolo, standing in the midst and looking out to the Churches on the piazza, how beautiful.
Unfortunately, when I came out of the Church, I noticed that my bag was open. My heart sunk, my first day I spent in the police station. I was robbed.
The friendly people of the Embassy helped me get back home.
I am trying to gather the funds to go back.
Rome, the pearl of Tuscany.
