Join me in discovering the beautiful country of the Philippines.
My name is Kat. I hail from one of the beautiful countries in the east, the Philippines.
Our country has been known for its beautiful beaches. And if you have traveled here, you must have been to the beautiful, white sand beach of Boracay.
Most people may not know this, but there are many more beautiful beaches than Boracay, and many more mountains to trek in our country! The Philippines is a big, diverse archipelago, which is one of the main reasons why, although we are one country, most Filipinos have never seen the beauty of the different provinces in our country. Most Filipinos, including me.
I have always loved my country, its people, its environment, albeit the dirty politics and ineffective government (my opinion only). I have always wanted to travel the Philippines, and visit every nook of its islands. I have always wanted to share with the world the beauty of this glorious patches of lands, and the diverse culture of the people.
With your help, I shall visit different provinces in the Philippines, talk to some of the locals, research on different accommodations in the area, and go to the tourist spots in each area.
I will be backpacking across the Philippines, traveling strictly on bus rides, ferry boats, jeepney rides, and on foot. I will also be accepting suggestions on what places to visit and give you a review, so that aside from donating, you will also have a part in the traveling.
For every five dollar donation, your name will be mentioned in a pdf guide that I will be making as an output of this project. There are also other perks listed on the side of this page.
If I complete this project, I shall give a shout out on my facebook page to every one who will donate. I will also email you with a gist of my experience to encourage you to visit the Philippines!
When I finish this project, I will be making a plaque of names, to be displayed in our home, so that you will be known, for eternity by my family and friends, as someone who has helped an eager traveler to fulfill her dream. (Not included in the list of perks because I will surely include you in the plaque, no matter the quantity of donation)
Help me achieve this dream, and I will also gladly help you in your future visits to the Philippines.
(If you have a travel blog and you want to be included in a special page in my project guide, please tell me and I shall coordinate with you. After all, I will be scouring your your blog for help)
(Photo was taken at the BenCab Museum in Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines, and the statues behind me are called Bulol, an Ifugao Rice God, usually made of wood, and said to represent general well-being)
