This couple has owned Jimmy's Oasis Restaurant in Timmonsville for 9 years and would like to retire and we want to buy them out.

About this project

Hi there folks! Thanks for stopping by. We are two sisters who grew up loving to bake and cook. This is where you come in, with your contributions we will use the money raised to enter into a purchase contract with an existing and profitable business so that the current owners can retire and enjoy their golden years.

Jimmy and Christina have been operating Jimmy's Oasis restaurant for 9 years and would love to enjoy their golden years in retirement. They are in their 60s and would love to move back to Greece. The cost of the restaurant is $125,000, but Jimmy is willing to accept a lease to own arrangement. If we are able to raise $30,000 we can provide Jimmy with a down payment of $10,000 and use the remaining funds to purchase additional equipment and some renovations to the building as well as working capital.

You may ask, "What sort of experience do you have?" Awesome question, and I have a great answer. Melissa, my sister/partner brings all of the technical baking experience. She studied Baking and Pastry at the Culinary Institute of Charleston. She has also quite a portfolio of items that she has created over the years and loves to show it off.  We can offer sweet desserts such as cheesecakes, eclairs and cakes. We also specialize in savory items such as quiches, pub style fresh not frozen hamburgers, cheesesteaks, sausage and peppers. Even fresh cut french fries!  So what do I bring to the table? I bring the technical and organizational skills to this endeavor from my various roles of customer service representative, technical support advisor, and food/retail team leader positions through the years. Look below at some of what we were able to create when using someone else's kitchen, now imagine what we can do in our own!

The business is located in downtown Timmonsville, SC which is looking to attract more local businesses to the area. With the expansion of a major highway that runs through the town when complete will draw more traffic into the area. It is currently being operated four days a week, we would like to open it 6 days a week and open for breakfast. Folks, you can't forget the most important meal of the day! It is a restaurant with plenty of parking and a great walk up and drive through business.

With your help we can send Jimmy and Christina into their golden years with financial security and afford us the opportunity to live out a dream!

Risks and challenges

We know that there are inherent risks involved in running a restaurant, but since this is an established restaurant our biggest challenge will be to uphold the high quality that Jimmy and Christina have established. It will also be to increase sales by adding new menu items and refining the existing items. With the big road widening project in the area our challenge will be to have people travel one block inward for our delicious food.
