I would like to help people publish their books either as an e-book on Kindle, or a hard copy. Everyone has a great story to tell!

About this project

Everyone has a story to tell, but they aren't sure how to get it on paper, or even get it published. I've been writing my whole life, and I've been doing it professionally for about 15 years.

Recently I helped a friend publish his book, and it was amazing. He felt so great about the whole process because he had been trying on his own for about 5 years. Once he let me help him - the book was published within a few weeks on Kindle as an E-Book, but what was even better was the day he actually held a proof of the book he worked so hard for in his hand. I want to be able to provide this service to everyone, and go a step further for those who need help writing as well.

A blog will be posted at RandaSphere.com giving information and resources to the subscribers to help them cultivate ideas and stories, but also tools and services for writing, editing and publishing.

There will be a video series that will teach people how to write their story. It will take them from their first word all the way to the post production of self publishing.

A podcast will also be published to offer even more valuable information to the subscribers. This publishing service will be a full service - one stop shop offering the following services:

  • Self Publishing an E-Book
  • Self Publishing a hard copy book
  • Writing Courses for all levels of writing
  • Video Courses on writing and writing software
  • Webinars for live Q & A with the subscribers

The budget for this venture looks like this:

  • Equipment needed to start up:  $4,500
  • Editing and Proofing books: $3500 per month (outsourced)
  • Production and Hosting Monthly Fees:  $100 per month
  • Advertising Costs:  $750 month
  • Printing costs:  $500 per month
  • Shipping/ Mail:  $100 per month

I am very excited and confident that this will be a successful venture, please help me bring it to light!

Thank you,

Randa

Risks and challenges

The challenge to this is getting the message out to the people who want help writing their story, but with this campaign I will be able to market to those people and show them how they too can become published on paper or in the e-book world. I believe another challenge or risk is going to be getting the printed copies of the books timely because the authors will be anxious and not willing to wait for the first proof. Luckily the printing process is usually within 4 days, so I don't think it will be a big issue - but it will affect some of the books at different times of the year
