Save Lives By Helping to Fight Childhood Obesity!

You've heard the stats about childhood obesity and it isn't pretty. What we do and have done for the last 20+ years by offering a variety of services and programs to help NYC families get fit and stay fit.

As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, we are committed to fighting childhood obesity. One of our cornerstone programs is the Children’s Sports & Fitness Expo. By donating to this campaign, you will help us continue to provide a fun-filled day that will show families healthy eating alternatives, expose children to different sports and activities and provide information about health and wellness resources in their community.

The Expo is an annual FREE event where thousands of children have the opportunity to participate in over 25 sports activities, health screenings and nutrition clinics. Through this event, families gain exposure to activities and services that will help them become physically fit thereby reducing the risk of obesity in their lives. Some of these activities include: fencing, tennis, soccer, golf, archery, volleyball, capoeira, gymnastics, basketball, baseball and much more. The sports clinics are conducted by over 35 Certified, Semi-Pro collegiate athletes.

As President of Body Sculpt of New York and a personal trainer, my mission has always been to help people attain their fitness goals so they can live healthier lives. The Expo has been the culmination of a dream for me. We are changing lives, one family at a time and I hope you will see this as an opportunity to help make a difference in a child’s life.

How You Can Help

Every dollar you donate, goes right back into the program.

As you can imagine, putting on an event this size is a HUGE undertaking. The $15,000 we hope to raise will help us provide 25 sports activities and trainers to more than 5,000 children. It will also help us to purchase t-shirts and provide breakfast and lunch for the 200 volunteers who are graciously donating their time from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Any funds raised above and beyond our goal of $15,000 will go towards offering a Six Weeks to Fitness program for parents and children immediately following the Expo. You can find out more about our Six Weeks to Fitness program by going to www.sixweeks.com.

Can I count on you to help us meet or surpass our goal and make this the best Expo ever?

As a not-for-profit, this means any donations you make are tax deductible and it also means that you are a wonderful person for caring enough to help.

To show our gratitude for your generous donation, we have a few rewards.  Check out the list to right which includes  (1) being listed on our website; (2) being listed in a souvenir program book; (3) t-shirts, (4) consultations with our fitness trainers, (5) consultations with our nutritionists (6) a customized meal plan.

By donating as little as $25 you're not only helping others, but you’re also helping yourself to stay fit and healthy. Sounds like a win-win situation doesn’t it? Even if you don’t need the fitness or nutrition services, you may wish to donate and pass on the perks to one of your family members or friends.

The Impact

We know you’ve all seen the alarming headlines about the childhood obesity epidemic. The CDC reports that 18% of adolescents in America are obese and according to the New England Journal of Medicine children today will not live as long as their parents because of obesity. To me, this is a call to action!

The Expo has a proven track record of being able to serve as an effective intervention that can contribute to behavior modification and increased awareness about the importance of proper nutrition and regular physical activity. I hope you will help us continue this work. Visit http://www.bodysculpt.org for more information.

Other Ways You Can Help

We totally get it if you can’t make a donation at this time, but there are other ways in which you can help. You can start by spreading the word! Please tell your friends, co-workers, family, frenemies – anyone you can think of about our campaign. Put it on blast through your social media networks.

Don't forget to save this date:  Saturday, June 27, 2015, come and join us in Brooklyn from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., come out and visit us at the 12th Annual Children's Sports and Fitness Expo at Boys & Girls H.S., 1700 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11213.

With your help and support, we can continue to keep this wonderful event FREE for the community.

Thank you for your help, it’s greatly appreciated!
